This desk, made in England by the Bevan-Funnell Co., would be called Burr Walnut Writing Bureau, but whatever you call it , it’s a gorgeous piece. The Bevan-Funnell Co. was founded in 1945 and are makers of vey fine reproduction furniture.
The drop front opens to reveal “cubbies” for storage and a tooled leather surface. The top rests on cabriole legs and knurl shaped feet. The center and the top of the legs bear a shell carving. Rests pull out to support the writing surface and there is a long drawer and the bottom of the body. The lock has the original key and works. All hardware is brass.
The desk is labeled inside of the long drawer.
