A C.1990’s: Genuine leather and gilt gold leaf Maitland-Smith Coffee/Library table in a Tromp L’eoil fashion of large, stacked books, with inset 3-drawer storage. Embossed sections to top, along with a diamond shaped design detail to center roof top table,. A Tromp l’oil example, of the most recognizable of the piece(s) of Maitland-Smith Co. Maker’s mark brass plate inset top drawer with the familiar flocked ombre or peacock paper lined drawers and wrapped drawers. Maitland-Smith is known for placing their signature purple variations of wave-like form or paisley-like formed, ombre wall-covering within some of these pieces, such as this one, along with their brass maker’s markings nameplate, as indicated in images within. There is “only,” one accidental and obvious, human attributed flaw by the previous owners, apparently they had placed something hot; like perhaps had a candle holder and candle wax overflowed, and burnt the surface top of leather, in question, as image indicates area in question, or something else hot, unless applied a protective barrier like a dish, tray or drink coaster. without using a coaster to the top left side leather embossed area as close up image indicates, otherwise the rest of table is in great condition with minute nick to legs, or to some of the edging. It gives it a worldly, leather bound book look. We took the liberty in polishing the leather and the wood, which fills in most of those “used,” issues with antique pieces, but a well deserved Table for distinction within any interior abode, library/den/family or living room areas. but most certainly has a world look and feel, with gorgeous patna. Sourced from a Delray Beach, Florida Estate. We welcome any and all offers, given that one small area of damage to top of leather, and should not detract from the overall table, some have been known to place a decorative catchall/object, book or tray even so the table has the old Worldly look. The table is solidly heavy and requires 2 strong men to move.

There are minor scratches to leather, given the year of mfr., with use, normal and conducive. “Also,” there is a human attributed damage or flaw to the top of leather table, apparently previous owners. left something really hot perhaps candle, wax overflow or extremely hot surface to leather will occur like shown image, otherwise shouldnot detract given the worldly old book look.
