This hand painted cobalt blue ginger jar was made by the Kutani Ware Co. and it was hand painted in Japan around the 1970’s. This ginger jar was made with a deep cobalt blue glaze that was then hand painted by a skilled craftsmen who used overglaze enamel paints create the stunning scene of a golden peacock with hibiscus flowers and cherry blossoms in the background. This Japanese cobalt blue peacock ginger is in “Excellent Condition” with no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no crazing to the glaze, and slight wear to the paint of the piece only for the age of it.
