You will love the character and charm of this pair of primitive handmade antique wood dining chairs with original primitive red stain, circa 1850. They are in exceptional antique condition considering age and household use. The solid wood ( elm, ash or fruitwood) chairs have plank seats with spindle splayed slant back and matching double stretcher. One chair has hand signed name under seat bottom. Appraiser suggested it was to identify the owner during over country transport by train or other mode of transport. Place as a lovely warm accent side chairs / chair shelf in any room. Also love them styled on a breezy care free covered porch. The slant back makes for an enjoyable place to relax for sweet tea and tall tales with the neighbor folk. Partner with our primitive rustic drop leaf while available.
