Original painting by Academy Award winner Stephen Goosson. Not only a talented artist, Goosson was an accomplished Art Director.
He was instrumental in many movies and television shows during the Hollywood Golden Era. Art Directors Guild Hall of Fame 2007.
Oil on canvas board (24″x20″). Guilded faux finished frame adds roughly three inches.
No glaring problems with the painting. Clean all around both painting, matting, and guilded frame.
The painting is of a country landcape with farm animals and three woman. Two girls are possibly holding ducklings. Scene late 1800’s to early 1900’s.
This painting was likely done @1940’s to 1950’s as indicated by the faded discolorization on the back of the canvas board.
There is light pencil writing on the back, upper left hand corner. The name Leslie is visible but the last name is unreadable. Oscar winner.
