Very rare Vladimir Kagan tear drop ottoman/coffee table designed in 1980’s re-upholstered in
shagreen leather with chrome base and conforming grey tray featuring Kagan’s smooth, sensuous lines with the unparalleled flair his designs were so known for. In perfect vintage condition in original leather. Labeled with ” Hand made in the workshops of Vladimir Kagan”.
From Russian descent, Kagan lived in Germany before moving to New York in 1938. After studying architecture at Columbia University and only 22 years old, Kagan opened his design firm and made a name for himslef launching his long, low and sinuous Serpentine sofa. The function was to make it comfortable,” he once commented. “I created what I called vessels for the human body.”
